A suburban housewife's guide to raising babies and children in a socially, environmentally, and fiscally responsible way. We believe that sustainable living is critically important and may be easily achieved by incorporating simple ideas into everyday life. In addition to being a new mom who researches everything, I have a background in environmental management and engineering and have worked on sustainability projects in Africa.

Baby Bling
Ok, so this really doesn't have anything to do with sustainability, but I think that I can tie it in loosely because it's a matter of health. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the use of a pacifier at sleep time starting at 1 month of age and continuing throughout the first year of life to help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Knowing that, you'd be silly to not use a pacifier, but having a piece of plastic stuck in your baby's mouth isn't always the cutest thing. Enter Munchkin's Bling Pacifiers, adorable bejeweled paci's that come in baseball, crown, circles, or star patterns. I'm going to have to find a crown one for our little princess, Miss C. Too cute!
